We are sad to announce that on March 4, 2009, GGL lost one of our biggest fans and a truly devoted mom, Jodi Horowitz (Liz Horowitz's GHS '06 mom)

Jodi Fisher Horowitz
JODI FISHER HOROWITZ loving mother of Elizabeth, Jared and Tate, beloved wife of Paul, devoted daughter of Joy Fisher and Jerome and Anne Fisher, sister of Jeffrey and Marc Fisher and a caring aunt and friend passed away after a courageous battle with leukemia on March 4, 2009. Jodi's kindness, selflessness and dedication to her family and friends made her a remarkable woman who brought laughter and life to those who surrounded her. She was a graduate of Boston University's School of Communication. As Vice President of Public Relations and Media Planning for Nine West Group and later Jones Apparel Group for 15 years, Jodi left a legacy of greatness that serves as an inspiration to all. Her compassion for others allowed her to contribute immensely to the world around her. Jodi was honored by the footwear industry as the founder of Shoes on Sale, one of the leading breast cancer events in the country, which has raised over $30 million dollars for breast cancer research and educational programs. But Jodi's greatest passion was her role as a mother. She loved her children and her enthusiasm for their pursuits in life made her their greatest advocate. Her accomplishments are abundant, but above all the unique and special relationships Jodi forged with her children, family and close friends will be forever missed. Funeral services will be held at Temple Beth El in Stamford, CT at 1 PM on Sunday March 8, 2009. The family will be sitting Shiva on Sunday and Monday from 6-9 PM at 96 Indian Head Road, Riverside CT. Contributions can be made to Jodi Horowitz Leukemia Research Fund at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York, NY 10065.
